Based on the love for poetry, spoken word and women empowerment, performer Maaike van Steenis has made a selection of texts by well-known and lesser known female poets and word artists. The chosen texts highlight women and being a woman in different ways. Sometimes raw and confronting, sometimes with a wink, but always from a feeling of strength and positivity.

The lyrics are interpreted by Maaike and are provided by musician Jan Flubacher with musical accompaniment on double bass and guitar. Together they form a surprising duo which encourages the listener to think. Be carried away by women's voices and musical sounds...
