Tijdens de islamitische vastenmaand ramadan wordt dagelijks na zonsondergang het vasten gebroken met de iftar, een gezamenlijke maaltijd. Wij nodigen iedereen uit voor een iftar in de bibliotheek.

Op deze avond is lekker eten de basis. Maar de achterliggende gedachte is groter. Tijdens deze iftar in de Witte Dame ontmoet je elkaar, luister je naar verhalen en leer je van elkaar. Een avond om mensen uit de diverse culturen die Eindhoven rijk is samen te brengen.

De Bibliotheek Eindhoven staat voor verbinding en kennisoverdracht voor iedereen. Al ruim honderd jaar is de missie: “Een gelegenheid te scheppen waar iedereen kosteloos, zonder onderscheid te scheppen van godsdienst, staatkundige overtuiging, rang of stand, de middelen kan vinden voor verdere ontwikkeling en bekwaming en voor ontspanning.” Samen eten verbindt.

Tijdens Iftar verbindt geniet je samen met anderen van heerlijke hapjes en soep. Iedereen is van harte welkom om gratis aan te schuiven.

During the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, every day after sunset fasting is ended with an iftar, a communal meal. We invite everyone to an iftar in the library.

Good food is the basis for this evening. But the underlying idea is bigger. During this iftar in the Eindhoven Library you will meet new people, listen to stories and learn from each other. An evening to bring people from various cultures together.

The Eindhoven Library stands for connection, sharing knowledge and stimulating talent development. For more than a hundred years, the mission has been: "To create an opportunity where everyone can find the tools for further development, without distinguishing between religion, political beliefs, rank or class."

During ‘Iftar connects’ you can enjoy delicious snacks and soup together. Everyone is welcome to join for free.

The membership for the Library in Eindhoven is completely free for children and young adults. Adults only pay €19 a year for a library subscription. Being a member of the library, you can enjoy all benefits and support the library at the same time. Join us fast and easy online.
