We will be reading 'Burn out' by Emily Nagoski: A scientific and feminist look at why we are so exhausted and how to actually heal.
Unlike traditional "self-help," this book approaches exhaustion through a specifically feminist lens. The authors argue that women experience burnout differently because of 'Human Giver Syndrome', the societal expectation that women should give all their time and energy to others. It offers scientific and emotional tools to complete the 'stress cycle' and survive in a world that constantly demands more from women’s bodies.
