Have you ever wondered what really happens to all the plastic we use and whether recycling is truly the solution? Join the Green Café Team for a thought-provoking movie evening to watch The Story of Plastic and afterwards share thoughts and impressions.
About The Story of Plastic
This Emmy-winning documentary takes a sweeping look at the man-made crisis of plastic pollution and the worldwide effect it has on the health of our planet and the people who inhabit it.
Spanning three continents, the film illustrates the ongoing catastrophe: fields full of garbage, veritable mountains of trash, rivers and seas clogged with waste, and skies choked with the poisonous emissions from plastic production and processing.
With engaging original animation, archival industry footage beginning in the 1930s, and first-person accounts of the unfolding emergency, the film distills a complex problem that is increasingly affecting the planet’s and its residents’ well-being.
After watching the movie we will have short discussions in small groups and talk about how we can contribute towards fighting this problem.
This is the third Green Cafe movie screening, they have always been popular. So reserve your tickets now! For the second time, we will be watching the movie at the Iris Blokhut, a renovated old-school neighborhood cafe and meeting place.
