AGORA Workshop 1: Archetypes

Archetypes: What Hero are you? What story are you living?

Archetypes are stories shared by humankind that give meaning to our human experiences. They are reflected in symbols, images and themes and are common to all cultures and all times. If we are aware of which archetypes are active in our lives, we can understand the stories we are living, which are often unconscious. Once we understand these stories, we can have more choice about which paths to take in life and identify our purpose in the world.

In the first part of the workshop, we will identify which archetypes are currently most active in our life, which ones we recognise as closest companions throughout our life and possibly which ones we have disowned. In the second part, we will start to discover how these archetypes give meaning to our experiences of life, the pleasant ones as well as the more difficult ones, and contribute to our successes and our frustrations.

We will explore psychological archetypes based on the world’s first scientifically validated archetype assessment tool: The Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator® (PMAI). Like most archetypal theories and tests, the PMAI is inspired by the works of Carl Jung. You can take the online test here for $19: https://www.capt.org/catalog/MBTI-Book-PMAIonline.htm. It will also provide you with useful pre-read if you like to come prepared! Taking the test is recommended but not required for the workshop.

About the AGORA Workshops Program (2020):
In this one year-program of 12 monthly AGORA workshops, Nathalie will invite us on a journey of discovery and exploration 'towards our core and back', in order to live a life of purpose, joy and connection. We will start with the ancient Greek aphorism 'know yourself' as a basis for personal development and to look at how transformation begins with Self-awareness.

We will then continue to grow our awareness of our relationship with the world by exploring our 'perceptions of the world', i.e. how we create our reality and find our unique place and contribution to the world. We will then be ready to consciously deepen our 'connection with others' through developing our emotional intelligence. The workshops are experiential and interactive.

IMPORTANT: There is a build up throughout the year, but each workshop can be followed separately.
