On Friday, January 24, writer and book artist Sofie Smit travels to England in the 1950s: the location of her latest novel ‘Het perron’ (The platform). In the story, a woman and a man do not speak to each other, but they touch each other deeply, without their knowledge. ‘Het perron’ is a story about the healing power of a brief encounter. In her theater lecture, Sofie takes you through her creative processes and tells about how writing moves her inner self. She starts her journey to ‘Het perron’ with her first book, a novella ‘Het is de Liefde’ that has been translated into English with the title ‘Love is the way’. At the end of the journey, the two stories and their main characters eventually come together.
