Feminist Book Club hosted by The Wave Eindhoven: Woman at Point Zero, by Nawal El Saadawi

We will be reading 'Woman at Point Zero', by Nawal El Saadawi.

Based on a true encounter in an Egyptian prison, this powerful novel tells the story of Firdaus, a woman waiting to be executed for killing a pimp. Through her life story, Saadawi explores the ultimate 'point zero', the moment a woman loses everything and, in doing so, finds a terrifying and absolute freedom from patriarchal control. It is a brief but searing classic of global feminist literature.
