In deze vrolijke en betekenisvolle workshop maken ouders en kinderen samen een bloemstuk vol kleur en symboliek — elk bloemblad vertelt een verhaal van liefde en herinnering.

Aan het einde plaatsen we de bloemstukken bij het altaar, waar we samen even stilstaan bij onze dierbaren.

Celebrate Día de los Muertos with us at the Library

On November 1st, we will celebrate Día de los Muertos at our library locations in Best, Waalre, and Eindhoven! This colorful and meaningful day of remembrance, which originates from Mexico, is all about honoring and remembering loved ones who have passed away. Rather than mourning, the focus is on celebrating life – with flowers, candles, photos, music, and vibrant altars, families come together to cherish their connection with those who are no longer with us.

During this special day, we are joining hands with various international communities to bring the richness of this tradition to life. All three library locations will host creative workshops for both children and adults.

The main language of the event is English, and everyone is welcome – whether you're already familiar with Día de los Muertos or simply curious about this unique way of remembering.

Vier Dia de los Muertos bij ons in de Bibliotheek

Op 1 november vieren we Día de los Muertos in onze vestingen in Best, Waalre en Eindhoven! Deze kleurrijke en betekenisvolle herdenkingsdag, die zijn oorsprong vindt in Mexico, draait om het eren en herinneren van overleden dierbaren. In plaats van rouw staat juist het leven centraal – met bloemen, lichtjes, foto's, muziek en kleurrijke altaren vieren families de band met wie er niet meer zijn.

Tijdens deze bijzondere dag werken we samen met verschillende internationale communities om de rijkdom van deze traditie zichtbaar en voelbaar te maken. In alle drie de vestigingen van de bibliotheek organiseren we creatieve workshops voor jong en oud.

De voertaal van het evenement is Engels, en iedereen is welkom! Of je nu al bekend bent met Día de los Muertos of nieuwsgierig bent naar deze bijzondere manier van herdenken.
