Een doolhof van koffers
FENIX vraagt koffers, heel veel koffers. Koffers die tot de verbeelding spreken of je vergezelde tijdens je eigen reis. De koffers zijn bouwstenen voor een groot doolhof, waar bezoekers na opening van het museum eind 2024 doorheen kunnen dwalen. Het doolhof staat symbool voor wat het kan betekenen om je koffers te pakken en opnieuw te beginnen.

Elke koffer is welkom
Heb je een koffer met een bijzonder verhaal? Doneer jouw koffer tijdens één van de inzameldagen. Zo blijft jouw koffer met verhaal voor de toekomst bewaard in de collectie. Vooraf aanmelden is niet noodzakelijk, maar zeer gewenst via fenix.nl/koffers.

Zij gingen je voor
Tussen de koffers die al gedoneerd zijn, is ook die van Daisy. Zij schonk de koffer van haar oudoom. Als achtjarig kind kwam haar oom in 1958 met een zogenoemde repatriëringsvlucht naar Nederland vanuit Indonesië. Isis overhandigde de koffer van haar overgrootmoeder aan FENIX; een honderd jaar oud exemplaar uit Kroatië. Anisa vertrouwde haar grote rode rolkoffer aan de collectie toe. Daarmee kwam ze vier jaar geleden uit Pakistan.

Over FENIX
Eind 2024 transformeert een historische havenloods aan de Rotterdamse Maaskade tot museum: FENIX. Op dé plek van vertrek en aankomst, waar miljoenen mensen vertrokken of van over de hele wereld aankwamen. Op de vlucht of de liefde achterna. Op zoek naar geluk of betere kansen. FENIX vertelt straks deze verhalen.

A maze of suitcases
FENIX is asking for suitcases, lots of suitcases. Suitcases that appeal to the imagination or accompanied you on your own journey. The suitcases are building blocks for a large maze, which visitors can wander through after the museum opens in late 2024. The maze symbolizes what it can mean to pack your bags and start over.

Every suitcase is welcome
Do you have a suitcase with a special story? Donate your suitcase during one of the collection days. That way your suitcase with a story will be preserved in the collection for the future. Pre-registration is not necessary, but very much preferred via fenix.nl/koffers.

They went ahead of you
Among the suitcases that have already been donated is Daisy's. She donated her great uncle's suitcase. As an eight-year-old child, her uncle came to the Netherlands from Indonesia on a so-called repatriation flight in 1958. Isis handed over her great-grandmother's suitcase to FENIX; a hundred-year-old specimen from Croatia. Anisa entrusted her large red rolling suitcase to the collection. With it she came from Pakistan four years ago.
